Dr.Julie Morrison - Uniquely Qualified As a licensed psychologist and mother of two school-aged children with ADHD and language-based learning differences, I possess a unique combination of professional knowledge, practical experience, and personal dedication to making a difference in the lives of children, adolescents, and adults for whom learning, attention, behavior, or emotional disorders pose a challenge to accessing their strengths. Completing my doctorate in clinical psychology at the American School of Professional Psychology, I adopted an integrative approach, emphasizing both psychodynamic conceptualization and cognitive-behavioral strategies, which influenced my therapeutic approach. Both my doctoral program and pre-doctoral internship were accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) and I continue to be a member of APA. Professionally, I have conducted individual, family, and group psychotherapy, as well as hundreds of comprehensive psychological evaluations in outpatient clinics and group practice settings. At the Kennedy Krieger Family Center/Johns Hopkins Hospital, I co-coordinated a Birth to Five Clinic. I am listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers of Psychology. A Fellow of the Maryland Psychological Association, I serve on the Professional Practice Committee. I am Vice President of Individual Differences in Learning, a non-profit organization, which advocates for the needs of twice exceptional (GT/LD) students and supports their families. I have also served on the LD/ADHD Advisory Committee for the Howard County Public Schools. |
